Marketing & Communications Intern

The Marketing and Communications Intern at Sangam is responsible for promoting Sangam—through the website and virtual world; products and advertising in the Sangam shop; and connections with the WAGGGS World Bureau, individual Member Organizations, and Friends of Sangam groups. This is an ideal position for those interested in learning about the internal workings of a large non-governmental organization and the promotion of events, products, programmes and opportunities. As the Marketing and Communications Intern, working with a diverse staff and liaising with local vendors and manufacturers, you will enhance your communications skills, and develop your leadership abilities by managing Sangam’s virtual media and on-site shop. What’s more, the Marketing and Communications Intern enjoys this developmental opportunity at an international Guiding and Girl Scouting Centre, living and working in a multicultural environment.

The Marketing and Communications Intern takes the lead on advertising Sangam events and opportunities, encouraging people to visit Sangam as guests, Tare, volunteers, and more. As Marketing and Communications Intern, you will oversee Sangam’s website, Facebook, YouTube Channel and other virtual media. You will create Sangam’s promotional materials, and will be in charge of their delivery and dissemination through a variety of means. The Marketing and Communications Intern is also responsible for staying up-to-date with the WAGGGS Communications Plan and the marketing and communications agendas of the other World Centres.

The Marketing and Communications Intern also manages the Sangam shop. You will have the opportunity to design products, such as t-shirts, badges, and other Sangam souvenirs, and to market them within Sangam. You will also help to manage the shop space itself, and those who work within it selling products to guests, day visitors, and staff and volunteers.

As Marketing and Communications Intern, you will utilize your creativity to spread the spirit of Sangam around the world.
