Coming to an Event

How early do I need to make my booking?

We recommend that bookings be made up to 2 years in advance to guarantee your spaces. Events during the monsoon season often fill 1½ - 2 years in advance. During the rest of the year, it is usually possible to book until 3-6 months before an event.

If you are considering attending an event but there is less than 3 months until that event, please contact us. Events with less than 8 confirmed participants may be cancelled 3 months beforehand.

Your booking is not considered confirmed until Sangam has received enrolment forms for each member of your group and the first 20% deposit towards your group’s event fees.

How do I make a booking?

Our “Event Booking Proceduredocument provides all of the necessary information on how to make a booking.

How much does it cost to stay at Sangam as an event participant?

The cost of participating in a Sangam event depends on the year and the length of the event. Our current rates can be found on the following link.

What do Sangam event fees include?

Sangam event fees include the cost of your accommodation, meals, and event sessions from midday the day before the event begins until midday on the last day of the event.

How can I make my payments to Sangam?

Payments to Sangam must be made according to the instructions in our “Making a Payment to Sangam” document.

Please note that you MUST notify BOTH Sangam and the World Bureau if sending a payment to London.

Can I get any financial assistance to come to a Sangam event?

Sangam and WAGGGS offer many scholarships. Some are specifically for members of the Asia-Pacific region, but others are merit-based and open to anyone. For more information, contact the Event Administrator.

Do I need to go through my national organization to come to Sangam?

Sangam does not require that you come to Sangam as an official representative of your country. We accept bookings directly from individuals or groups. However, some WAGGGS member organizations do require that visits to World Centres be organized through an international commissioner or national headquarters.

It is up to you to contact your national organization to find out the appropriate procedure for your country.

What information will I receive about my event in advance?

Sangam’s Programme Team will send you information about what to expect and what to prepare before the start of your event.

Can I stay on at Sangam after attending an event?

Yes!  Please let us know as early as possible so that we can confirm whether or not there will be space for you. It is especially essential that large groups let us know very far in advance if they need to stay on past the day their event ends. During the monsoon season, there are only a few days between events and it is not always possible to accommodate groups who have come for events and would like to stay on as independent guests. After lunch on the day the event ends, meals and accommodation will be charged per person at independent guest rates. Check out Independent Guest information and rates for more information.

Can Sangam create a custom-made event/ programme for my group?

It may be possible, please follow the following procedures:

  1. Contact us 2-3 years in advance to discuss
  2. Bring at least 30 people
  3. Mini-events (2-3 days) are very occasionally possible with less advance planning if there is sufficient space and availability between regularly-scheduled events
